Description

As requested by Andrea Bicciolo:

The link "Docs for this page" at the bottom of the majority of Moodle pages now defaults to Italian Wiki doc for all the users who have Italian language in their profile, thus almost the whole community of Italian Moodle users.

Since the Italian wiki is still without any content, currently Italian users are presented with a wiki void page.

Do you think it would be possible to point to the English docs page or let people accesses Italian wiki once it begin to be filled with some content, or whatever else solution you find appropriate for this issue?

Currently, if the docs.moodle.org/it redirect is removed, to provide Italian Moodlers with links to docs.moodle.org/en, then it is impossible to access the Italian docs wiki.

It's a tricky question, because it's a wiki not a book.

If it's not accessible and easy to find all the pages directly from Moodle then no-one will edit it ....

It would really just take someone an hour of cutting and pasting from English straight into Italian to seed all the main pages. If no-one's ready to be that facilitator yet then we should probably hide the whole thing for a while.

Has anyone posted in the Italian community to try and find some takers?

David, thanks a lot for your solution

I have added the following text to the MediaWiki:Noarticletext page in each documentation wiki and will be contacting all wiki administrators asking them to translate it.

This page does not exist yet. You are welcome to [{{SERVER}}{{localurl:{{NAMESPACE}}:{{PAGENAME}}|action=edit}} create it]
or read ''[[:en:{{NAMESPACE}}:{{PAGENAME}}|the corresponding page in the English documentation]]''.
