Guidelines for on completing reviews in moodle
Subject Teacher Instructions
The raison d'etre of the review system is that each subject teacher speaks individually to students about targets and progress. i.e . It's the conversation that is important! Please set aside time in your lessons over the next few days to do this
- Attendance, punctuality and homework completion data will display as the current data until the closing date, after which it will be fixed as the figure on the closing date.
- Minimum Target Grade . This is a clear statement of the minimum grade we would expect the student to achieve based on their GCSE grades on entry. It is calculated from ALIS data, but staff may decide to increase (but not decrease) the minimum target grade if there is evidence that a higher grade is more appropriate.Where no meaningful regression data exists course teams should decide and enter the targets.
- Current Performance Grade . This is the subject teacher's professional judgement of the grade the student is most likely to achieve should they continue to work at their current rate and effectiveness. This judgement should be based on robust assessment, preferably using examining board standards and mark schemes or assignments. This grade can be a 'U' or 'Fail' where accurate assessment supports that view.
- Behaviour, Effort and Quality of work are chosen from a drop down menu of Excellent, Good, Satisfactory , Some concerns and Unsatisfactory.
N.B. 'Some concerns' is not as serious as 'Unsatisfactory', and will not have such serious consequences
Behaviour - refers to behaviour in class i.e. Disruptive, Not attendance as the percentage speaks for itself
Effort - refers to both effort in class and number of homeworks produced
Quality of work -refers to work actually completed, is it at MTG standard
- An optional comment box has been provided. It is optional.
