If you want to perform the advanced search without using the simple search
first, maybe you want to search on author or in a date range, then your route
to it is by using the simple search (search this forum) without any arguments
(screenprint 1) and then using the 'more search options' button from the next
screen (screenprint 2)

The message you get back from the first search is 'Could not find any results
including the word No words matched. Try using different words.'. This seems to
be a sort of amalgamation of two error messages, and comes over to me as being
a bit clumsy and confusing. I wondered if it could be simplified to aid clarity
and usability.
