      Hi folks,

I'd like to contribute a new activity module and to request that it be tested and reviewed please. It's actually a reworking of an old Moodle 1.8/1.9 resource type - "Noodle" - which was created by Xtensis.co.uk under a contract which is no longer funded, so development has long since stalled. However the functionality this plugin provides is still, and will continue to be, extremely useful to my institution and many others, particularly in the UK, so I thought it was time someone did a conversion to Moodle 2.x (especially as we will be upgrading this summer).

The module allows teachers to find and add NLN Materials to their courses with the minimum of effort, and without the site administrator having to maintain a local repository of the learning objects, which are hosted and managed externally by the UK Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS) and merely embedded in Moodle courses by this module.

I am maintaining the code in a Git repository at https://github.com/tonyjbutler/moodle-mod_nln and have a stable branch for Moodle 2.2 so far, although I'm happy to make the minor changes necessary to make it work in Moodle 2.0 and 2.1 if there is demand for this. I've also included in the repository a branch with the code for the final release of the Moodle 1.9 resource type, upon which it is based.

I've already created an entry for the module in the Plugins Directory at http://moodle.org/plugins/view.php?plugin=mod_nln, which is currently awaiting approval.

Please let me know if you need any more information, and I hope this module will prove to be useful to others.
