On the 26th May 2012 the ICO in the UK will enforce a variation of EU Cookie Law - http://www.ico.gov.uk/for_organisations/privacy_and_electronic_communications/the_guide/cookies.aspx - looking at - http://www.international-chamber.co.uk/components/com_wordpress/wp/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/icc_uk_cookie_guide.pdf - it appears that the cookie 'mdl_cf_topcol' used in the format is a 'Category 3' cookie and therefore needs user consent before use.
Considering that a rewrite to use AJAX instead to fulfil the same functionality would be difficult, I have decided to implement a solution whereby the administrator of a site in a country where the law applies can choose to have users accept / reject the cookie for all Collapsed Topics based courses.
I have decided not to implement the functionality in Collapsed Weeks, rather request that administrators affected should uninstall it and use Collapsed Topics which incorporates the format. A message will be placed in the Readme and Plugins database to that effect.
