Thank you for all your continuous hard work on the Checklist package. It is a wonderful tool.
I have a suggestion for an instantaneous sign-off feature for the checklist, it would primarily be used in performance situations in which the student's initiate the checklist completion in a live setting using their moodle account, however, the teacher must sign off in the student account using a PIN code. This would primarily in large lab environments when checklist requests can be daunting and timely.
Here is the scenario:
-Students are responsible for completing performance skills and gaining sign-off on the skills through the semester; student may complete a skill whenever they feel prepared. When they are prepared they:
-Student pulls up their moodle account and checklist on a mobile device; gives to teacher to enter details
-Student performs the skill for the teacher
-Teacher uses the same mobile device the student is logged into and checks items off the list
-Teacher enters a confidential PIN code to verify the teacher checked the items of the list and not a random person
-Since the teacher is entering the data in the student's account, the information automatically saves and updates checklist and gradebook (if linked) in the student's checklist and the course gradebook, the teacher can enter the information in the moment without having to find the student in their moodle account or entering the checklist info at a later time or approving checklist requests.
-So, who can mark items complete? Teacher, but they can mark items complete from a student's account if they enter the assigned PIN. When it is marked complete with the correct PIN the checklist and gradebook (if linked) update to the correct checklist status.
