Enmeshed is a wallet application for teachers and learners: Demo video Moodle Plug-In

The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research deployed enmeshed in their MVP for the national networking infrastructure for digital Education. Since education in Germany is still regulated by the federal states, the infrastructure is the first approach to act nationally and digitally. There, enmeshed is used as an Open-Source and local data storage for e.g. language certificates, transcripts or enrollment certificates. Furthermore, enmeshed enables bidirectional and GDPR-compliant communication, like a messenger.

Learners are provided a QR code with which they can connect the enmeshed app on their smartphone to Moodle (or any other LMS System of their school/university). They can download language certificates, high school diplomas or enrollment certificates and save them digitally in their personal data storage of their phone or tablet. The app's main advantage is the so-called decentralized once-only principle: Without having to enter or upload their personal data five times in five individual application systems, learners can release their downloaded documents with one click using the autofill function. The plain text data is only stored locally on the smartphone and is not managed by a central service. The principle of data sovereignty is turned inside out. Instead of revealing all the personal data on the documents to the educational institution as a scan, only the information that is actually required is released by the user. The documents will also be marked as verifiable credentials, meaning a trusted file. The advantage for educational institutions is that they no longer must manually check 10,000 scanned applications for completeness and correctness.
