Overview

As a tactical step along the larger content management rework, the initial work from IDEA-6 has identified content reuse between courses as the highest priority pain point for instructors creating courses.  The existing import and export UI's are hugely confusing for users and there are several import behaviours that pose challenges for users which present an opportunity to improve the experience.

Objectives

• Assess the current import/export wizards for usablility and propose improvements
• Assess the existing import behaviours and look to improve their usability
• Investigate if a "Quick import" for an individual item from another course in context could improve instructor workflows.

Research and development has been scheduled for post the 5.0 release.   Design work is yet to be completed

Initial designe ideation and research has commenced.  The initial research indicated that the current import/export wizards should be taken out of scope as this is very large and will not deliver the impact a "quick import" option will. We are proceeding with the more focused quick import as the main focus.
