Front page activities and students enrolments

1.6 had setting "allusersaresitestudents". All registered users was students on front page. 1.8 haven't this feature. And peoples who have activities on front page have some problems. For example, problem after upgrading from 1.6: front page choice does not contain old results. More precisely, activity contain number of results, but page with results contain nothing. As far as I understand I must assign manually role Student for all users for Front page. Without this I will have problems practically with all activities on front page...
If I ovveride role Authentificated users (allow mod/choice:choose) all new users will be able to participate in choice, but can't view some results. I must manually assign all new users as student for front page...
Is it possible to add setting similar to "allusersaresitestudents" in 1.6?
