      Description

One of my students has requested a preview button so that he can preview a forum post before actually posting it to the forum. This is a feature that students are used to from a lot of other forum systems.

Is this the first place that this has been requested!?

At first i thought that it was not necessary since it is possible to edit moodle forum posts but it is paritcularly point 3 below that brings me here today (after loosing another post).

          1) Once you press send then you only have a limited amount of time to post (e.g. one hour) and this may not be enough for long posts or when the poster is posting in a second language.

          2) As soon as one posts the post becomes viewable by others, which may embarass those that are easily embarassed. They may want to have a loo at how the post looks before letting others see it.

          3) The preview button doubles as a keep me logged in button. There is nothing more frustrating that to post only to find that ones session has timed out and one's forum post has been lost.

I often find myself editing my forum posts because of some quirks with the markdown syntax so I really would appreciate a preview option. Some Drupal forums even use AJAX for a live preview of one's comment.

And while were at it: What about a preview or edit function for this tracker?
