      Description

      if one adds a a numerical question e.g
      4 K + 4 K and fills the answer field according to the unit with K
      moodle recognizes
      9 K --> false
      8 J --> false
      8 K --> true
      but 8 without the unit K is also recogized --> true

      This behaviour should be improved, since in natural sciences units play an important role.

            What I understand of the actual Moodle philosophy is that the grade should be given to the numerical value and the units are to allow the student to express the numerical value in various units if the teacher want to allow these units.
            Adding the units when expressing a numerical value can be another valid teacher objective.
            This could be tested using multiple choice question type for example.
            In a numerical question (or a calculated one) this could be done by adding a supplementary answer field with its own grading either expressed as a numerical value or a percentage of the question total grade.
            This is somewhat a new question type and can be confusing to the student unless there is a warning that the unit must be added.
            However in this case, you will not verify the student training to automatically add units when expressing a number...
            You could obtain this double grading by using Cloze question type with first a numerical question (without units)followed by a short answer where the student will put the unit. However only one combination of numerical value + unit will give a 100% score.
