      Description

The Groups overview is one way of finding out who is in which group. But that is half of what's needed. It gives a table showing each group and the members of that group.

What we also need is the other half, a table that shows each person within the course and the groups they are members of. Eg.

      Student 1 no group
      Student 2 Group 1, Group 2
      Student 3 Group 2, Group 3

      Preferably sortable by student firstname/surname

And, if that can be exported as an XLS or CSV that would be even better

I doubt this will resolve your issue but it may help move things in the right direction. I am attaching two screenshots. When assigning group members for the list of potential members it is convenient to be able to select a user and see what groups they belong to (see groupmembersb.png). I have a couple of suggestions for possibly improving this. The first is that the same functionality should be available in the already selected users so that when you select them you can see what group(s) they belong to (see groupmembersa.png to demonstrate that nothing shows up in contrast to groupmembersb where for the same user you can see what groups they belong to).

In addition, since it is possible to select multiple users we should either list together all of the groups or display a message that more than one user is currently selected. This does not give the grand overview of each student and their groups but it does make it a little more consistent and clear about what is happening.

If these seems essentially unrelated just let me know and I will create a separate issue.

          Peace - Anthony

          Thanks for reporting this.

I'm closing this issue because I believe it affects only unsupported versions of Moodle. This issue will remain here in case other users have the same problem.

If you haven't already done so, I encourage you to upgrade to a supported version.

In current versions of moodle the "Enroled users" page shows the list of students with their groups
