Force My Moodle setting no more available

    Details

    • Database:
      MySQL
    • Difficulty:
      Moderate
    • Affected Branches:
      MOODLE_20_STABLE

      Description

The setting $CFG->mymoodleredirect has gone from the Admin interface. With the new My Moodle interface it could be usefull to add it again.

However, i see possible confusion when using "mymoodle redirect" and "Default page for authenticated users". Probably when mymoodleredirect is on it should hide the Site home page link in Nav block.

Sam, can you please reinstate the $CFG->mymoodleredirect setting (strings are still in lang packs, it's just the admin/setting), and when it is active can we hide the Site home link (but keep Site pages, I think).

This could be a new setting called "forcehomepage" which forces the "defaulthomepage" choice by redirecting from the other one.

Bump: Many sites use the old force setting. This is causing some consternation when planning upgrades to 2.x.

I need this for my site as well. I want users to see only My Moodle because I have customised the default My Moodle page to suit all my needs. Is there any unofficial way to achieve this?

Yup, ideally would still be an option in 2.x

Just wondering whether the 'Default home page for users' setting is sufficient? Sorry if I'm missing something obvious.
