      1. As a teacher or manager on a course (course1), navigate to the Question bank
      2. Create some base data (questions and question categories)
        • Create several nested categories e.g.
          1. Apples (Parent - Top, Category info - Description - add short descriptive text)
          2. Bananas (Parent - Apples, Description not empty)
          3. Carots (Parent - Bananas, Description not empty)
        • Create some questions in each of these categories (keep questions simple).
      3. Create an Export file
        • On the Export tab in the Question bank
        • Select Moodle XML format and Export category: Top for {your course name}
        • Click Export questions to file
        • Check the export file is now in your downloads folder
      4. Navigate to another course (course2) with none of this base data
      5. Import the base data using the data in the Export file created earlier
        • Navigate to the Question bank
        • Go to the Import tab in the Question bank
          1. Select Moodle XML format
          2. Select file you downloaded earlier
        • Click Import
      6. Check that all the questions and categories you created in course1 are all re-created again in course2
      7. Particularly check that the question categories have their descriptions.

When question category descriptions were added Moodle XML import/export format missed this...
So it saves only name of the category.
Should be easy to fix thought....
