      Description

(note sure if 'Bug' or 'Improvement' - however this functionality has changed since 1.9)
When users are split into groups and view a forum that has Visible group mode their group is not the default selected. This is causing confusion as students are used to seeing their threads unless they specifically change the group.

In 1.9 and what I expect in 2.0 is that students initially see their own group threads when viewing a from with visible groups. Only when the student changes the group selection (eg 'All Participants') would they default to this - for the session.

Replication instructions (Tested in 2.0.3 as well as 2.1 demo.moodle.net):

      1. Create two groups as a teacher (Apples and Bananas)
      2. Allocate a student to the Bananas group
      3. Setup a forum with visible groups and post one thread to each group
      4. Log in as the student in the Bananas group

What Happens: the default group is 'Apples' which means the student cannot post or reply to the displayed thread
What Should Happen (and does in 1.9+): the default group should be 'Bananas' to allow the student to participate immediately.
...unless the student has changed the dropdown in which case their last selection should be the default for the current session
if the user logs out of Moodle or opens a new browser their group is the default
