Currently, it's possible to edit the plugins and buttons used by TinyMCE, but only by editing lib/editor/tinymce/lib.php.
It would be good if there were fields in the settings.php page that provided an interface for adding/removing options from the plugins and theme_advancedbuttons[1-3]_add paramters in the get_init_params method.
This would allow some of the more powerful features that are disabled by default, such as CSS editing and Autosave, to be enabled cleanly without any knowledge of PHP/Javascript required on the admin side.
