Exporting Rubrics levels and feedback

    Details

    • Type: New Feature
    • Status: Open
    • Priority: Minor
    • Resolution: Unresolved
    • Affects Version/s: 2.2.1, 2.8.2
    • Fix Version/s: DEV backlog
    • Component/s: Grading methods
    • Labels:
    • Affected Branches:
      MOODLE_22_STABLE, MOODLE_28_STABLE

      Description

Currently it's possible to export summary feedback from work which has been graded using Rubrics, but the level and feedback for individual Rubric criteria don't export. However, departments need to keep records about this kind of feedback.

It would be good to add that data to the export file.

          Thanks for suggesting this.

If you can propose a code solution, that will help others who may have the same need and will increase the chance of this improvement/feature coming about sooner. If you are able to provide a patch, please add a patch label so we will spot it.

It would be nice if the export to portfolio function would support this too, so students can keep their work together with their grades in their portfolio (feature request of our English and Dutch department). I'm not very sure how this should look: like a zipped folder with the assignement and the rubric as an html file?

I guess I'm not quite sure what this issue means, but if it means that when I grade an assignment using a rubric with 4 criteria that I could get a report on the data for each criteria (an exportable count of each level would be sufficient - and then it could be used in excel to do analysis) that would be great.

As a teach I use rubrics not just for ease in grading and improved feedback to students, but also for assessment of the assignment and student learning. More importantly, though, is that if this sort of summary data were available, it would make my work as assessment director much easier.

It would be important to include any free text feedback along with numeric grades. One occasion for using this would be Personal Tutor encounters - the Personal Tuition system is pretty common in the UK. At the moment, because of Moodle's architecture, Personal Tutors don't have access to all the courses where students' feedback are, so are hindered in preparation for the encounters. Gathering i.e. exporting it together in one place promises to help with this.

Sorry to say I don't have any code suggestions. Hope this can soon be assigned. Thanks, all.

Since it has been some time since something has happened with this issue, I wanted to ask whether the Moodle HQ is planning to include the feature (exporting rubric levels and feedbacks) into Moodle core. We really like the rubrics (very easy and nice way to give feedback to students), and a possibility to export the rubric levels and feedback is something that would cause the rubrics to be liked even more.

Hi Samuel, this issue has 42 votes and it is quite likely that it will be added to the roadmap. Although I can not give any time estimations at the moment, this list of suggested issues is quite long. Thanks for understanding

          Hi,

In some of our faculties, this feature would be greatly appreciated. Just out of curiosity, I see that there are 50 votes for this issue. Are there any plans of working on this any time soon?

          Thanks

          Melvin
