      Test in several browsers:

      1. Open any form with textarea and filemanager
      2. Try to pick up a file from wikimedia, youtube and dropbox in both textarea and filemanager
      3. Sometimes you will be offered to select whether to pick file as a copy, as a link or as a shortcut, change between them if possible
      4. Make sure that "Save as", "License" and "Author" text fields are not shown when picking as a link and shown in other cases

      Note:

      • links are only allowed in textarea
      • youtube allows to pick as a link only

      Description

When selecting a video from an external repository, YouTube for example, the name in the 'Save As' field of the file picker can be edited. However, the name of the link that appears in the TinyMCE textarea is the original name.

      Steps

      • Enable the youtube repository
      • Add any activity
      • Select 'Moodle Media'
      • Select the 'Youtube' repository
      • Select a video
      • Edit the 'Save As' field and change the name of the video to something else
      • Click 'Select this file'
      • Click the 'insert' button

Notice that the 'Save As' field name change wasn't applied when the video was inserted into the TinyMCE textarea. And there is no way to change the name of the link in the textarea unless you change to HTML view and manually change the name.

It is kind of a mute point if the Multimedia filter plug-in is used; however in the cases when the filter plug-in is disabled (and on purpose) then it's a very visible issue. Especially if the original name of the video is marked as inappropriate or not contextual enough.
