Allow Custom Menu Item URLs to open in a new window

We've tried to add an URL to the menu with query params (like http://www.url.com/?param1=value1&param2=value2) and open it in a new window but we can't.

If we've added the following line to the custommenuitems field but, althought the link opens in the same window:

Moodle new window|http://www.moodle.org/?param1&param2" target="_blank

Is the any option to open URL with query params in a new window?
