Editing forum posts time issue

When I edit a forum post of one of my students (a trivial LaTeX cleanup), the editing and original post times are interchanged. The posting time of the original post gets updated to the time when I edit the post, and the text at the bottom of the post which indicates that the post has been edited receives the time stamp of the original post.

I would expect the original post to retain its original time stamp and the little text saying that I have been editing the post should be stamped with the time when I did the edit.
