      1. Go to Site Administration -> Plugins -> Activities modules -> Lesson and change the defaults values for the Slideshow width, Slideshow height and Slideshow background color settings (it may be easier to enter "strange" values here so that their effect is more visible later!)
      2. In a course create a lesson choosing Slidehow = Yes in the Appearance setting section
      3. Add some contents pages to the lesson, it would be good to also add some question pages, some branch pages, ...
      4. Verify that when previewing the lesson as a teacher you see the correct appearance.

According to Moodle 1.9 (last version where it worked ) it should be like this:

      • With a fixed width, height, and custom background color.
      • A CSS based scroll bar will be displayed if the width or height of the slide is exceeded by the content of a page.
      • Questions will 'break out' of the slide show mode, only content (branch tables) pages will be shown in a slide by default.
      • Buttons labeled with the default for "Next" and "Previous" will be shown at the far right and left of the slide if that option is chosen on the page. Other buttons will be centered below the slide.

      Description

      See this discussion: https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=216048
It seems that the slideshow feature was never correctly implemented in Moodle 2. It is a measure of the "lack of interest" in that feature that we had to wait for moodle 2.3 for a user to complain!

Anyway, I have investigated and am attaching a patch, which I have tested against current moodle 2.3.

Plus I have no idea why the slideshow div settings (color, width and height) have been moved from the Lesson settings to the Site Administration settings, meaning that now those settings can only be set by an Admin and must be the same for all lessons on a site...
