Can't use Excel to edit the assignment Offline grading worksheet

      1. As admin/teacher:
      2. Add a new course
      3. Enrol multiple students to course
      4. Add an assignment (online text), enable the offline grading worksheet feedback type
      5. As student: submit the assginemnt
      6. As teacher: 'Download grading worksheet'
      7. Using excel, open the grading worksheet
      8. Ensure the status column displays OK
      9. Set some grades and feedback comments
      10. Save the csv file
      11. Navigate back to the assignment grading screen and click on "Upload grading worksheet"
      12. Upload the file.
      13. Verify that the screen "Confirm changes in grading worksheet" appears. Click Confirm.
      14. Verify that the grades and feedback have been recorded in Moodle's gradebook.

      The ability to download and upload the grading list as a spreadsheet is a very useful tool.

      However, on windows computers the CSV file is opened and edited by Excel and there are some issues on the CSV that generate errors during the process and prevent it to be successfully implemented.

      1 - Line breaks at the status fields - Regardless the Microsoft Office version/language, the CSV file has line breaks on the "Status" fields. These line breaks are interpreted by Excel as new records, so each record is spread over several lines - take a look at the attached image.
