If you have run out of disk space on a Moodle site deleting files doesn't help. The actual deletion of the file from the disk is done by a cron process somewhere between daily (applies to big backup files) and every four days. If you're site is effectively down this isn't much use.

I would like to see some sort of facility for doing the clean up "on demand". Possibly an admin tool or similar.
