If you limit the navigation block display to categories, courses and sections and then visit a course there is a bug whereby section nodes are not rendered but the JS is told that they are.

This represents two intertwined bugs really, the first that the JS and HTML have different ideas about what is going on and the second that if you set display the categories, course and sections you don't always actually see sections.
The second may lead to a UI change.
