      Basic working

To test this you need a teacher account and a student account. The student account must have a valid mail address so that you can check mails received by the student.
You also need a backup of a course made before this patch is applied with a lesson activity including at least an essay question and some student attempts to this essay question that have been graded by a teacher, some with a comment and some without any comment.

      • Add a lesson to a course with Use default feedback set to yes in the "Appearance" section of the settings.
      • Add an essay question to the lesson, score = 1, jump to next page.
      • logout
      • Connect as a student and attempt the lesson.
      • once you reach the end of the lesson and see the congratulations message, logout
      • Connect as a teacher again, click on the lesson
      • Click on "Grade essays"
      • You should see the student attempt, click on it.
      • Verify that an editor is displayed for the "Your comments" field.
      • Enter a comment with some HTML formatting and an image using the filepicker
      • Also give a score equal to 1 to the student
      • Save changes
      • On the Grade essays page, click on the "Email graded essays"
      • Verify by going to the student mailbox (sorry there is no other way to do that test currently in the lesson activity ) that the mail content is correct HTML. You should see "Essay prompt:" and the question's text with all HTML formatting, "Your answer:" and the student answer with all HTML formatting, "Grader's comments:" ad the teacher comment with all HTML formatting, "You have received 1 out of 1 for this essay question. Your grade for the lesson has been changed to 100%."
      • Return to the lesson as a teacher and go to the Reports page. Click on the student attempt and verify that the teacher's comment is displayed (under Response: ) with all HTML formatting including embedded files.

      Backup/Restore

      • Verify that when you backup the course and restore it nothing is broken in teacher's comment to essay question including the embedded images
      • Verify that restoring the backup made before this patch is introduced don't produce any error or warning when going to Reports and Grade essays page and clicking on old attempts to essay questions

      Page deletion

Verify that when you delete an essay page in a lesson and this page has some attempts with teacher comments lesson activity, the files embedded in the teacher's comments to essay questions are correctly deleted (I don't think there is another way to verify that than looking into the mdl_files table ?)

      Course reset

Verify that when you reset a course an check "Delete all lesson attempts", verify that the files embedded in the teacher's comments to essay questions are correctly deleted (I don't think there is another way to verify that than looking into the mdl_files table ?)

On the Grade essays page, a primitive plain text only is available for grader's comments.
Please provide a full-blown HTML editor.
