This would be a feature improvement to the Online users block to provide users the ability to hide themselves from other online users.

The new feature would provide users the ability to indicate that he/she is online, busy, offline, or hidden (from view of others).

If this feature is desired and would be included in the core code; we could contribute the code to Moodle.
