These testing instructions are exploratory in nature and require you to use your noggin. We want the installer to look friendly and clearly show where there are mistakes and/or errors, and also to be consistent with the rest of the Moodle UI at the post-install level. Start the installation process using the UI Try causing various steps to fail: use an invalid path supply invalid DB credentials Have a docroot which is not writeable by your web server so that the config.php is printed to screen. Areas that I've modified include: the breadcrumb area; alert boxes; form elements (dropdowns, input fields, buttons); the moodle logo at the bottom; and the <pre> tag in the config.php page.
