Set grade_report_overview_showrank to checked.

Enrolled a student in two units

Go to Grade administration ► Setup ► Course grade settings for one of the courses

Set "Show rank" to "Show"

Go to Grade administration ► Setup ► Course grade settings for the other course

Ensure that the default for "Show rank" is "Default (Show)"

Set "Show rank" to 'Default (Show)'

Login as the enrolled student and navigate to Grade administration ►Grades ► Overview report

Ensure that you can see the rank in both courses

Logout and login as admin

Go to Site administration ► Grades ► Report settings ► Overview report

Set grade_report_overview_showrank to unchecked.

Login as the enrolled student and navigate to Grade administration ►Grades ► Overview report

Ensure that you can see the rank for only the course that was set to "Show"

Ensure your cannot see the rank for the other course

Description

Showing a overview report rank sitewide isn't visible to student in some cases after ~~MDL-37357~~ fixed most of the issues.

This occurs because of the incorrect settings for grade_report_overview_showrank.

Reproduction steps:

Set grade_report_overview_showrank to checked.
Enrolled a student in two units
Set gradebook Overview report > Show rank to 'Default (Show)' in both
Login as the enrolled student and navigate to 'Grades' > Overview report
and you will see a rank in one unit but not the other even though sitewide setting is set to Show by default.
