      Description

      Hello,

we are having a lot of problems with the "default team" feature of assignment team submissions.

If, for any reason, some students are not members of any group, the behaviour stated on https://docs.moodle.org/dev/Assignment_Team_Based_Submissions says they will be in a "default team". In general, this situation is not intentional, but more commonly, it is a result of the teacher forgetting to add students to a group.

This way, put the user on a default team is not a good solution, because if one student submits the activity, then all the others users without groups (may be only 1 or 2) will be counted as they have sent the assignment when it is not the case.

We think that the best behaviour for these cases is simply to block assign submission for students with no groups (at all or groups in the grouping choosed).

Is there any practical reason for this default team to exist?
