In teaching languages, it is almost a must to use "embedded answers" question type or cloze tests along with other materials in a lesson activity. In other words, a teacher, for various reasons, may need to sporadically add questions, especially gap fill type in a lesson. Currently, Moodle offers only a limited set of question types with "Short Answer" type as the closest question type to "embedded answers" one. Yet, the former, permits only one blank for the whole question. In addition, the answer to the question can only be provided at the end not embedded within it. (Please look here for more detail about this: https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-48473) The shortcoming clearly affects the productivity and quality of the courses created by language teachers depriving them of the capability to create gap fill question types along with other material in lesson activities. Adding the capability to add cloze tests in a lesson activity would definitely make Moodle more suitable for language teachers.
