Restrict access to course based on start and end date

We'd like to suggest a new feature/improvement in Moodle
In Moodle core, we can't specify a starting date and end date in the course settings.

We mainly use cohort enrolment as enrolment methods, and we can't setup the duration of enrolment in this method.

Today, the only solution to define start/end access date to ressources/activities in our courses is to define restrict access date on each section.
But students can still see the course (empty course when they're not in the restricted access period...)

The best way would be to define this start/end date from the course general settings.
Can we consider this improvement for future moodle releases ?
