      Description

      I'm bumping into a problem with Cloze questions in Moodle 2.8. Here is the quiz question:

      Supply the missing word (or words) to complete the translation:
      "I can see it with one eye"
      id

      {1:SHORTANSWER:=uno oculo ~=oculo uno }

      videre possum

      As it stands right now, this won't work. The spaces before '~' and "}" mean that students' answers are marked wrong, whether or not they type a space there.

      Also, if you view this question in 'preview' and choose "fill in the correct response", it will insert an answer without the space, which then will not be accepted as correct.

      It looks to me that Moodle is stripping out that extra space in some processes, but not for others.
