    Description

When marking an assignment with marking workflow enabled and a status other than 'released', grades are prevented from being transferred into the gradebook so they remain unavailable to students until the assignment is released (at which point all the grades are copied to the gradebook).

However, it is still possible to enter grades directly into the gradebook for unreleased assignments, and those grades then become immediately visible to the students both via the gradebook directly and also via the assignment activity.

If the assignment has already been graded (via the activity), merely editing the grade via the gradebook and re-saving it (even without making any changes) causes the grade to be transferred to the gradebook.
