File picker blank after dismissing notification

We have a file picker area restricted to images only, and if you pick a non-image file you get a notification.
After closing the notification, the file picker is blank. To return to file upload you need to restart the file picker or click 'File upload' again.

Can you refresh the file picker after dismissing the notification so that it's immediately ready to take another file? An 'OK' button with which you would dismiss the notification (instead of closing it with X) could be a good idea to force the refresh.

Steps to recreate:
1. Navigate to a file picker restricted to accept only certain file types
2. Attempt to upload a file type that is not accepted by the file picker
3. Close the notification with the X
Result: the window is now blank.

Expected behaviour: the window would return to its previous state, allowing for another try at file upload.
