Create a cloze question in the questionbank. You can use something like this:

{1:SHORTANSWER:=Berlin} is the capital of Germany.

Export the question in the Moodle XML format.

Create a new lesson.

Import the question. Make sure to change the file format to Moodle XML.

Ensure that there is no notice about an undefined property. You should see a warning that unsupported question types were not imported.

Now try to import the file back into the question bank.

Everything should import correctly.
