Ensure that Mathjax filter is On and TeX is Off.

1. Create a course.
2. Enrol 3 students.
3. Add a Lesson activity (use settings below).
• Flow control / Allow student review = "Yes"
• Flow control / Provide option to try a question again = "Yes"
• Flow control / Maximum number of attempts = "6"
4. Edit the Lesson activity and Multichoice question page.
• Page title: Question with formula
• Answer 1: $$x= \frac {17}{12}$$ and $$x= \frac{13}{12}$$
• Response: good
• Answer 2: $$x= \frac{17} {12}$$ and $$x= \frac{13}{19}$$
• Response: great
6. Select one (1) of the two (2) possible answers and click the "Submit" button.

Result:

1. Without the patch: You will see "Your answer : $$x= \frac{17} {12}$$ and $$x= \frac{13}{19}$$"
2. With the patch: You should see the formula/notation rendered correctly

Enable (set to On) TeX notation at Site administration / Plugins / Filters / Manage filters. Ensure Mathjax is On as well.

1. You may use the same steps above.

Result:

1. Without the patch: You will see "Your answer : x= \frac{17} {12} and x= \frac{13}{19} "
2. With the patch: You should see the formula/notation rendered correctly

Case for image and mp3 files:

• Another testing case would be to use an image file and mp3 file in the Answer field. This should be displayed correctly as well.
