      Testing instructions

      Create an assignment and verify that the moodle form behaves correctly

      • Create a course
      • Go into the course
      • Turn editing on
      • Click "Add an activity"
      • Choose the assign module
        • Type in an assignment name
        • Scroll down to the section: "Grade" in the form
        • Verify that the grade type is set to the default: "Point"
        • Verify that the maximum grade is set to: 100
        • Click "Save and return to course"
      • Click "Edit" on the assignment
      • Click "Edit settings" in the menu that pops up
        • Scroll down to the section: "Grade" in the form
        • Verify that the grade type is set to: "Point"
        • Verify that the maximum grade is set to: "100"
        • Change the grade type to: "Scale"
        • Change the grade scale to: "Default competence scale"
        • Click "Save and return to course"
      • Click "Edit" on the assignment
      • Click "Edit settings" in the menu that pops up
        • Verify that the grade type is set to: "Scale"
        • Verify that the grade scale is set to: "Default competence scale"

      Create a quiz and verify that the moodle form behaves correctly

      • Create a course
      • Go into the course
      • Turn editing on
      • Click "Add an activity"
      • Choose the quiz module
        • Type in a name
        • Scroll down to the section: "Grade" in the form
        • Verify that the grade type isn't showing
        • Verify that the maximum grade isn't showing
        • Verify that the grade scale isn't showing
        • Click "Save and return to course"
      • Click "Edit" on the quiz
      • Click "Edit settings" in the menu that pops up
        • Scroll down to the section: "Grade" in the form
        • Verify that the grade type isn't showing
        • Verify that the maximum grade isn't showing
        • Verify that the grade scale isn't showing

      Verify that the mod_assign settings behave correctly

      • Navigate to site administration
      • Go to the: "Plugins" section
      • Under: "Activity modules" click on: "Assignment settings"
        • Scroll down to the section: "Default assignment settings"
        • Verify that there is a setting "Default grade type" and is set to "Point"
        • Verify that there is a setting "Default grade scale" and is set to "Choose.."
        • Change the setting: "Default grade type" to: "Scale"
        • Change that the setting: "Default grade scale" is set to: "Separate and Connected ways of knowing"
        • Click: "Save changes"

      Create an assignment and verify that the new default settings are applied in the moodle form

      • Create a course
      • Go into the course
      • Turn editing on
      • Click "Add an activity"
      • Choose the assign module
        • Type in an assignment name
        • Scroll down to the section: "Grade" in the form
        • Verify that the grade type is set to: "Scale"
        • Verify that the grade scale is set to: "Separate and Connected ways of knowing"
        • Click "Save and return to course"
      • Click "Edit" on the assignment
      • Click "Edit settings" in the menu that pops up
        • Scroll down to the section: "Grade" in the form
        • Verify that the grade type is set to: "Scale"

      Create a lesson and verify that the moodle form isn't affected by the

      • Create a course
      • Go into the course

      • Choose the lesson module
        • Type in a name
        • Scroll down to the section: "Grade" in the form
        • Verify that the grade type is set to the default: "Point"
        • Verify that the maximum grade is set to: 100
        • Click "Save and return to course"
      • Click "Edit" on the quiz
      • Click "Edit settings" in the menu that pops up

      Hello,

      I would like to see an system wide feature where you can define what Grade type or Scale -grade options assignment-activity uses as default (when creating a new assignment-activity).

      At the moment default setting is:

      Grade type: Point
      Maximum points: 100
