      Provide a course with a student who has completed an activity which goes into the gradebook, e.g. a quiz.
      Open Course administration -> Grades
      Change the view to User report
      Choose to the given student

      His name in the title links to his profile.

      This is a minor suggestion.
      In the Grade Book, User Report, might you be able to make the students name (at the top) be a hyperlink to that student's account? In most places where a student's name shows (e.g. the Grader report) it is most often a hyperlink.
