In MDL-45772 a hack was introduced in an attempt to stop browsers from autofilling user's passwords where they shouldn't. MDL-52952 modified this slightly to improve it in response to changing browser's code. It now no longer fixes the problem on chrome at least.
After MDL-53048 provides an alternative password field we should deprecate prevent_form_autofill_password.
