Create 4 levels of nested course categories: Miscellaneous / Cat 1 / Subcat 1 / Subcat 1-1 . Take note of their respective category IDs. Open "Manage courses" page, some categories should be collapsed Expand categories and click on " Subcat 1-1 "'s "Permissions". Click "Back to category .... " in the bottom of the page, you should go back to the page that edits this category (look at the URL, it should be /course/management.php?categoryid= [Subcat 1-1's ID] ) Collapse all sub categories except for " Miscellaneous " Click on " Cat 1 "'s category name, your URL should now be something like /course/management.php?categoryid= [Cat 1's ID] Again expand all categories and click on " Subcat 1-1 "'s "Permissions". Click "Back to category .... " in the bottom of the page, you should go back to the page that edits this category (look at the URL, it should be /course/management.php?categoryid= [Subcat 1-1's ID] ) Same should be with the pages "Assign roles" and "Check permissions" Make sure there were no new entries in error.log during this test
