MOODLE_32_STABLE
There was a combination of settings in 3.1 and below that we found very very useful.
- We set turned Show course categories (navshowcategories) off, because we don't want them to be able to navigate to categories directly, we don't let users "explore" other courses on the server. Plus it made the breadcrumb very long. So with that off, the Breadcrumb was "Dashboard > course name".
- Then we enabled Show my course categories (navshowmycoursecategories), because we sort into term categories, which is the logical way for people to navigate to their courses in the block.
Now, in 3.2, if you turn off Show course categories, and turn on Show my course categories, a 'Courses' node is inserted into the breadcrumb (Dashboard > Courses > course name) which takes you to /course/index.php and lets you browse all courses on the system.
From what I can tell, this seems to be caused by the removal of the 'Current course' node in the Nav, which showed in the nav block, but not in the breadcrumb.
Note: This is based in the Clean theme, and requires you to have more than 1 category.
