      Site Administration > Advanced settings

      Tick "Enable tags functionality"

Go to Site Administration > Appearance > Manage Tags

Add one or more standard tags to the Default Collection

Optional: in Glossary settings, add a standard tag. Note: tagging of Glossaries is independent to tagging of Glossary entries. One will work without the other.

      1. Add a new Glossary entry
      2. Select one or more standard tags from the list or add your own tag
      3. View the Glossary entry
      4. Click on tag which will take you to the Tag index page.
      5. (If tag was entered in Glossary settings – Glossary activity will be listed.)
      6. Tagged Glossary entries will be listed.
      7. Links on the Tag index page will take you back to the tagged entries.
      8. Hide Glossary
      9. Go to Tag index page
      • Admin can see the links to the activity and/or individual entries, but there no visual clue that it’s a hidden activity. This appears to be the case on all activity tagging and is therefore not classed as a bug in this code.
      • Student cannot see any reference to the activity or individual entries.

Entry requiring approval, but not yet approved:

      • Teacher can see entry on Tag index page
      • Student can see own entry on Tag index page
      • Student cannot see another student’s entry on Tag index page

If a student is NOT enrolled in a course...

Links to Glossary activity and individual entries do not display on Tag index page.

      Note re Tag index page

Based on current settings ($exclusivemode in the locallib.php of each module), there needs to be at least 6 tagged entries of any particular type before the index page displays a "Show all..." link.

      Backup/restore
Backup a course containing a glossary with user data and restore in another course. Make sure all tags were restored.
