    Description

      Problem

One common complaint among our faculty is the complexity of Moodle. It is often said that there are too many options.

The current activity chooser display is indicative of this. Currently there are

      • 26 Activities
      • 9 Resources

Available for selection, requiring the user to scroll at length to find some of the more commonly used (such as the Label resource, which is listed 33 of the 36 total selections available.

      Challenge

Simplify the view for the end user, without removing the option to use items on the chooser.

      Implementation

In the contributed patch we made the items that are initially displayed in the Activity chooser a site-level config setting. Then users can customize the list themselves. This makes the activity chooser fit on a single page for most users without having to scroll.
