      1. Create a new quiz.
      2. Add a new essay question to said quiz; set "allow attachments" to 1; set "Files of these types may be added to the submission:" to ".pdf; .java".
      3. Log in as a student and attempt the quiz.
      4. Try to drag and drop a file of type *.xlsx to the file area; you should be shown a warning.
      5. Try to drag and drop a file of type *.pdf to the file area; you should be shown no warning.

      Backup/restore

      • You need a course with a lot of essay questions with file restrictions.
      • Back it up and restore it, and verify there are no regressions.
      • Try some variants like restoring into an existing course, or duplicating a quiz with essay questions.
      • Try some variants including restoring a course from a previous Moodle version and essay questions into a version with this patch included.
      • Try some variants including backuping a course from a Moodle version with this patch included and essay questions into a older version without this patch included.

Within the essay question type file, there is a way to have students upload a file or several files (see MDL-49208).
Unlike for the file upload in assignments (see MDL-39913) it would be great to have restrictions for the filetypes in the essay question type as well.
