GIFT question import should allow choice of answernumbering

      1. Log in as an admin user
      2. Go to site admin > plugins > question types > multiple choice
      3. Set 'answernumbering' setting to '1., 2., 3., ...')
      4. Go to a course
      5. Expand course admin menu (top right hand cog icon) and select "More...", follow 'Questions' link in the following page
      6. Add a 'Multiple choice' question with 3 different choices
      7. Back in the question bank, follow 'Export' tab link
      8. Select GIFT format and include the questions category that contains the question you just added
      9. Go to site admin > plugins > question types > multiple choice
      10. Set 'answernumbering' setting to ' a., b., c., ...')
      11. Go to another course
      12. Expand course admin menu (top right hand cog icon) and select "More...", follow 'Question bank -> Import' link in the following page
      13. Select GIFT format and upload the exported file
      14. Edit the multichoice question you created
      15. Check 'Number the choices?' field, its value SHOULD be ' a., b., c., ...'

      Either by respecting the default set for multichoice questions (see MDL-50011) or by some other means, it should be possible for an admin or ideally a teacher to set the option numbering to be used on questions created by GIFT import.

       

      I'm happy to "fix" this by making it respect the settings introduced in MDL-50011, but I want to see whether anyone else has any other suggestions first.
