Start with moodle site that is not registered with a hub. Use ngrok or something similar to make your site available from the web Log in as admin Make sure you have warnings about site not being registered on "Site administration" (admin/search.php), "Site administration > Registration", "Site administration > Server > Hubs" You should also see a button inside all these notifications and it should lead to the registration page Go to "Site administration > Plugins > Messaging > Manage message outputs", click on "Settings" next to Air notifier and then "Request access key". Make sure you have warning and a "register" button Login as manager Make sure you have warning about site not being registered on "Site administration" but it has no button and suggests to notify the administrator Login as admin and register the site (note: on master either skip this step or revert MDL-58694 , otherwise you would not be able to register) On top of registration form there should be a RED warning "Your site is not registered" After registration the notification that you are registered should not be red Make sure warning disappeared from all the pages listed above for both admin and manager Unregister your site on Site administration > Server > Hubs
