When I upgraded my Moodle to 3.3 and boost during the semester, I did take note that when I now "lock" an item in the grade book, that the icon on the top did not change to show a "lock" as it did before (see graphic.) I thought, "Okay, I guess that this icon doesn't change and now is like acts as a "toggle." I did notice that all students' grades did show that they were locked, so initially I wasn't bothered by this. But as I get ready to begin a new semester with new course, I now see a BIG problem.
When I restore a course, I always begin by "resetting" it. The reset will complain that some grade book items are locked. No problem, I just need to go to the grade book and unlock the items and then proceed with the reset. However, can't do this in Moodle 3.3 with Boost because I cannot tell which grade book items are "locked". I see the same icon regardless of whether the item is locked or unlocked. Wow, big problem.
Of course my solution is to add a bogus student, then go through this process of unlocking grade items (see second graphic.) Well, what a work-around!
I don't see this as a feature request, I see this as a bug. I shouldn't have to add a bogus student to see whether or not a grade book item is locked or unlocked. I prefer that this problem be fixed. (I haven't done testing yet to see if this is a Boost theme issues, or something else.)
