Login as an admin
Go to "Site administration / Users / Permissions / Assign system roles"
Click on the "Manager" role.
Click "Back to the list of all roles"
Confirm that you are redirected to the page with the list of roles.
User context
Go to " Site administration / Users / Permissions / Define roles "
Create a Parent role
Go to any user's profile page.
Click " Preferences "
Under " Roles ", click " Assign roles relative to this user "
Click on the " Parent role "
Click "Back to the list of all roles"
Confirm that you are redirected to the page with the list of roles.
Course category context
Go to "Site administration / Courses / Manage courses and categories"
Click the cog icon in the "Miscellaneous" category.
Click " Assign roles "
Click on the Manager role.
Click "Back to the list of all roles"
Confirm that you are redirected to the page with the list of roles.
Course context
Create a course and go to the course page.
Click the cog menu and click " More... "
On the " Course administration " page, click on the " Users " tab
Click " Other users "
On the " Other users " page, click " Assign roles "
Click on any role (e.g. Manager)
Click "Back to the list of all roles"
Confirm that you are redirected to the page with the list of roles.
Module context
In the course you created, add an assignment.
Go to the assignment page.
Click the cog menu.
Click " Locally assigned roles "
Click " Teacher "
Click "Back to the list of all roles"
Confirm that you are redirected to the page with the list of roles.
