I already logged into moodle.org as a guest, I can't see a log out button, and the password recovery for my real account doesn't work since I'm logged in already

Please use a new browser window to access moodle.org. You will then not be logged in a guest and will be able to recover your password.

I phrased it as a one off problem, but I did mean it as a bug report...

To rephrase: guests should be allowed to recover passwords, and / or they should be allowed to log out. (I'd settle for either, but both are valid points)

Closing the window is at best a work-around, not a real fix; it also causes problems of it's own, in that other tabs had important work in that I couldn't afford to close.

Actually – I have a patch for this. Hang on in there...

From Martin Langhoff (martin at catalyst.net.nz) Friday, 4 August 2006, 02:14 PM:

Fixed in MOODLE_16_STABLE and HEAD. Now all you ahve to do is wait for MartinD to upgrade moodle.org (logout from the 'guest' login in the meantime).

It was a different problem actually, so it deserved a new fix The patch mentioned earlier was already merged in 1.5/1.6 and HEAD.

Adding MartinD here – heads up: this bug is getting in the way when people want to recover passwords. Fixed so it might be good idea to update moodle.org

Closing as it is fixed in the code and I know MartinD upgrades often.
