      Description

Generico is quite popular and really useful. It makes small customizations of Moodle possible without having to write plugins or modify Moodle code.  Templates can be created/shared/edited from within the Moodle interface.

A lot of templates have been shared in this forum thread. https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=324771. And there is a Generico category on the Moodle plugins database for them too.  I have started the process of properly documenting and submitting templates there.

Because of the utility and flexibility it provides, I have thought for a while that it would be a good addition to core Moodle. I know it would definitely need changes ( all those config settings for a start ...) . And I would need a bit of guidance. But first ..

Is this project viable? Do we need this in core and would it be accepted?
